Rhys Chant

Rhys Chant is a theatre-maker, director and performer whose main interests are devised theatre, biographical work and site-performance routed in exposing social and political contexts

​

Rhys is a founder of Kitchen Sink and has been Creative Director since 2020. They are responsible for outreach programmes, project communication and creative direction.

​

Originally from Farnborough, Rhys studied at the University of Chichester and is continuing their practice on the MA Theatre Directing course at University of East London. Their first work, Tea with Marjorie, was performed at the Chichester Fringe Festival and supported by the ChiTheatreWorks scheme. Other work includes the serial short-film project Anthologies which explores poetry in performance through camera, and a collection of three films with young people which debuted at The Living Room Cinema, Liphook in December 2022.

They are a Drama Specialist at Stagecoach Camberley and Yateley, and have work extensively with young people and children in theatre training programmes across Surrey, London and Hampshire.
